Fdip 188

I just listened to Phedippidations Episode 188 during my run today. At the end of the podcast he talks a little bit about this blog and says some of the nicest things about me. Steve was one of the main reasons why I started training for a marathon. He was so kind to mention my wedding...what a great gift to me ;-)

Today I also did my first outside run in New Brunswick. It has been raining alot so I decided to stay off the trails and run on the sidewalk. I did a new loop today and part of the run didn't have sidewalks. I had to run along the road on gravel at a slant. My knee is telling me to not to that again! I agree! I will try to run a new loop tomorrow. Tomorrow is also Canada Day and our last at home reception. It will be great to see all of our Canadian friends and family.

This weekend I want to start working on a new look for this blog. I'm just using something basic until I had the time to put towards a new look. So you can all look towards that! I also wanted to thank all those that stopped by after listening to Fdip. All your best wishes really mean the world to me!!!

See you on the road!

Made It

Made it to New Brunswick! I'm so excited to be back in Canada. Wednesday we will have our last at home wedding reception. We are so excited to see everyone again.

Yesterday my parents and I stayed at the Hilton in Omaha, right next to the Quest Center. Last night I talked them into coming with me (them walking) for my run. Dad was nervous about me going out by myself. It turned out to be a great area for both running & walking. I ran along the river and then around a small lake. It was so nice to be outside!

Las Vegas

We just got back from our second honeymoon in Vegas. Yeah I know my life sucks! We had a great trip filled with lots of shows, eating, shopping...and WALKING. We stay at the Hilton Las Vegas for the first 6 days of our trip. It was on the far end by Circus Circus (but off the strip). We did a ton of walking and boy was it hot. It was in the 100's every single day we were there. My only complaint about my trip was my running options. When I asked the front desk they said they wouldn't recommend a female running by herself...they of course recommend their gym (which costs $20 a day). It seems like I have been running into this more often in my travels. I'm afraid to go out for run by myself in strange cities alone. I would rather be safe then sorry. So for all you female runners out there....what do you do when you travel or are on vacation? Do you try to get outside for a run or do you just stick to the treadmill?

Well I'm just thankful that I will be done traveling for most of the summer. I can't wait to get back to a normal schedule and a regular rhythm. What time zone am I in again? On that note I will finish tonight will a final message. I'm leaving Monday for Canada. We will be having our second at home reception with my husband's family. I will be in New Brunswick for around a month. So you can see me out on the road...up North.

Well GOOD NEWS I'm back from my honeymoon! We had a wonderful time! We were on Oahu for our wedding and then made short trips to both the Big Island and Kauai. I had some interesting runs, did at least 1 run on the treadmills in each hotel that we stayed at.
I was really lucky and was on the Big Island during the 1/2 Ironman. It was so inspirational! They actually did the swim section right in the ocean behind our hotel. So we were right at the start when they started the race. Very exciting! Maybe something to work towards some day?!?

We also got to do some pretty awesome hikes. I will try and post some pictures in the next few days. Overall it was an awesome honeymoon and a dream wedding. I will also try to post a few more pictures from the wedding when I get some back from my photographer. I'm very excited to see them! Well I better get myself to bed, I have another 6 miles to run tomorrow AND a at home reception to start decorating. I hope everyone will have a great weekend.
See you on the road!
